Former Radnor resident Mark Gerardot is hoping his story of an affair that led to his wife’s suicide and his girlfriend’s murder will keep others from following the same path, writes Vinny Vella for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Gerardot has published a book detailing his tumultuous marriage and affair that led to the tragic deaths.

The book – Irreparable: Three Lives. Two Deaths. One Story that Has to Be Told – comes after 2.5 years of Gerardot refusing to talk about what happened. Now, after some time in therapy, the 52-year-old is ready to share his story.

Gerardot entered into an affair with his boss, Meredith Chapman, after his own 30-year marriage to his wife Jennair had grown strained. Chapman, too, was in a struggling marriage.

Jennair tracked her husband’s moves and learned about the affair.

On April 23, 2018, she took a gun and drove to Chapman’s apartment, broke in, and waited for the woman to return home. She then shot her and turned the gun on herself.

“I always tell people to shut it down, don’t follow what happened to me,” Gerardot said. “It’s not my mission per se, but it’s out there, and I want to change people’s minds before it happens again.”
