When former Eagles tight end Brent Celek was released from the franchise last year, another profession opened up for him as part owner of a Media-based real estate company, writes Jenny DeHuff for Philadelphia Weekly.

“I was just thinking about potentially playing football, but if I was going to play, I would have to play for another team, and I didn’t really want to do that,” Celek said.

The 34-year-old Celek is part owner of Pando Mortgage. A licensed realtor, Celek oversees a sales team at Pando Mortgage, which maintains a brokerage, mortgage, and title company.

Asked what life’s been like since leaving the NFL, Celek said it has been bittersweet. He said he misses locker-room banter with the boys, camaraderie, and just playing the game.

Celek is building his own home in West Chester. He and his wife, Celeste, and their three children will soon be moving there from South Philly.

“I don’t push (sales) on anybody,” he said. “Ultimately, I’m building a house that, hopefully, when people see it, they’ll say, ‘Oh! Will you come (and) help me?’ That’s the ultimate goal.”
