Continuing its mission to provide COVID-19 crisis response across the Commonwealth, Centric Bank has presented a total of $46,500 to four Pennsylvania food banks since March 2020.

“Healthy communities are paramount to a healthy economy,” said Centric Bank President & CEO Patricia (Patti) A. Husic. “Helping to meet nutrition needs and increase access to fresh foods in communities in need has been a passion of Centric Bank’s since our founding. This year, the pandemic intensified those needs, and food insecurity remains one of our state’s highest concerns. Centric Bank was proud to respond with our support both in resources and volunteer time.”

Centric Bank’s donations were made to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in Harrisburg, Daily Bread Community Food Pantry in Schwenksville, Chester County Food Bank in Exton, and Bucks County Housing Group (BCHG) Community Food Pantry in Doylestown.

“Centric Bank’s generous donation to the Chester County Food Bank helped to provide more than 1,800 meals through our Sunshine Box program,” said Beverly Abbonizio, the Chester County Food Bank’s Director of Development. “These boxes containing shelf stable foods were created in response to the increased need due to the pandemic and provided a safe way for clients to receive food in drive-thru truck-to-trunk distributions. We are grateful to corporate partners like Centric Bank for their generosity during this unprecedented time in our country’s history.”

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, Centric Bank has provided extraordinary financial support for Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s Crisis Response. As a result of their contributions this year, which totaled $40,000, our food bank was able to provide 250,000 healthy meals to Central Pennsylvanians struggling with hunger,” said Joe Arthur, Executive Director of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. “We are so thankful to CEO Patti Husic for her leadership at Centric Bank and in our community, especially during these challenging times. With partners like Centric Bank, we are confident that we can maintain our crisis response for as long as necessary.”

In addition to financial support, Centric Bank team members have donated time serving at the food banks to ensure uninterrupted food distribution throughout the Commonwealth.
