The career of Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has come full circle from Drexel Hill, where he grew up idolizing the Eagles and later interned with in 2005, writes Bob Grotz for the Daily Times.

Last Sunday, the Browns hosted the Eagles at First Energy Stadium.

“We’ve played against each other so many times,” Stefanski said. “I think 2007 was the first time. Never as the head coach, though, and that’s something I’ll probably reflect on later.”

He credits his success to his experience as an Eagles intern.

“Being around the operation on the absolute periphery, just seeing how it was, was a great experience for me,” Stefanski said. “I got to know Coach (Brad) Childress a little bit, and when he got the (Vikings) job that following January, he brought me out there to Minnesota.”

Stefanski was an executive assistant to Childress, a longtime Eagles assistant coach who became head coach of the Vikings. Stefanski stayed on with the Vikings under two more head coaches, Leslie Frazier and Mike Zimmer.

He was elevated to offensive coordinator in 2018.
