‘Raise Up! the Curtain’ Campaign Off to Rousing Start for Uptown!

By

Thanks to its valued supporters, including its Board of Directors, Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center has raised $350,000 toward its $500,000 goal.

The restrictions imposed by the pandemic mean that Uptown! is facing an extended closure and disruption to its operations. With 72 percent of its annual budget (more than $800,000) generated from ticket sales and space rentals, Uptown! is confronting a challenge to its financial well-being.

The $500,000 call-to-action campaign will ensure its continued operation once pandemic restrictions are lifted and crowds can gather in the theater once again.

If you are one of the many who believes in the future of live theater and live performance in West Chester – and have supported the nonprofit with a campaign gift – Uptown! is grateful.

If you have not yet joined the ambitious effort, please consider making a gift now. Your gift will directly support operations, future performances, and a theatre education program.

Your investment in Uptown! will ensure that its doors open again to inspire audiences and unite the community. Whether it’s music or dance, comedy or film, Uptown! can’t wait to welcome audiences back to the theater.
