Partnership Between GWCC and WCU Connects Local Businesses with Free Marketing Help

The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce has announced the fall session of the GWCC/WCU Marketing Partnership Program. This initiative between the chamber and West Chester University will connect students with local businesses to assist them with their marketing plans and strategies while giving students real-world experience.

Seniors enrolled in the Marketing Strategy and Planning Capstone class at WCU will work with selected chamber-member businesses under the direction of WCU professor Tom Elmer to:

  • analyze the issues impacting their marketing efforts
  • work with the owners to set strategies
  • offer a three-month tactical plan based on the brand architecture and strategy

Elmer is a SCORE mentor who works with small businesses on their marketing challenges. He has spent more than 25 years in sales and marketing senior leadership positions in a variety of different industries with a focus on helping companies grow.

“We’re proud of this exciting collaboration with WCU and pleased to offer this opportunity to our members,” said Dave Fairman, Interim President at GWCC. “This partnership demonstrates the chamber’s ongoing commitment to deliver valuable programs and resources to support local businesses and our community.”
