Artisan Construction has presented new plans for a senior housing project in East Vincent Township, painting a rosy picture of the benefits it would bring to the area, writes Evan Brandt for the Daily Local News.

The developer asked the township for a zoning change to make it easier to build the 212-unit, age-restricted home project called Stony Run at Kimberton.

Jon Benson – engineer, planner, and financial analyst for Artisan Construction – said the project was scaled down from the original plan of 400 homes. It now calls for 174 single homes and 38 twins that would be constructed on a 66-acre parcel. A clubhouse with a pool, tennis and bocce courts, trails, and a fenced dog park are also included in the project.

The remaining 89.5 acres owned by the developer would be preserved as open space.

Meanwhile, David Babbitt did a fiscal analysis of the project, concluding that it would generate more tax revenue than it would cost in municipal services. This would also benefit the Owen J. Roberts School District, as it would not add children to the district while providing tax revenues for it.
