Registration is now open for the Virtual 5K & 10K Trail Runs for Thorncroft, as well as a Fun Run/Walk/Wheel/Ride, on Sept. 3.

Established in 1969, Thorncroft is one of the oldest therapeutic equestrian centers in the U.S. It specializes in therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities (EAA) for both children and adults with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.

Through the community’s generosity, the Malvern-based nonprofit is able to offer an inclusive environment of love and respect and thus allow true healing and growth to occur. It serves 350 riders each week.

Proceeds from this event will support the health and well-being of Thorncroft’s horses, as well as the continuation of its mission. (This year, Thorncroft has already given $75,000 in scholarships to riders.) People can choose to participate or donate, and any individual or business interested in sponsoring the event can contact Mikaela Potrako at mikaela@thorncroft.org.

Just like Thorncroft, the virtual setting is inclusive of all abilities and celebrates the importance of health and physical activity for all people.

Signing up is simple and fast:

  1. Click here to register and select your event.
  2. On Sept. 3, from any time between 12 AM and 11:59 PM, complete your event and log your time.
  3. Share the fun by tagging @thorncroftec in your photos.
  4. Submit your virtual results.

All participants receive a free t-shirt and participation medal.
