The City of Coatesville has implemented proactive emergency management measures in the form of a daily curfew, from 8 PM to 6 AM, to address the spread of COVID-19.

The declaration aims to mitigate the severity of this public health emergency by protecting the health, safety, and welfare of Coatesville residents.

“Our efforts to curb the infection rate of the COVID-19 virus resulted in a request to City Council to issue a supplemental declaration of emergency in accordance with Section 19-1 of the City Code to activate the City’s Emergency Management Team,” said Michael Trio, City Manager.

The City Manager, Director of Emergency Management, and Emergency Management Team will work with the Chief of the City of Coatesville Police Department to coordinate enforcement of the above-referenced prohibitions.

“As challenging as these recommendations may seem, they are needed to stem the rising number of cases throughout the city, county, and state,” said Trio. “COVID-19 poses a serious threat to our quality of life, health, safety, and economy, but we will continue to fight this pandemic while supporting and educating our residents with day-to-day news updates and helpful tips. This is a critical time for us all, and it is also the best time to show everyone how resilient Coatesville 19320 really is.”
