Members of the 2016 CREATE class celebrate the completion their program.

The Chester County Economic Development Council is pleased to be among the partners supporting the second offering of the Coatesville Regional Entrepreneurial Assistance and Training Endeavor (CREATE) Series: Business Skills for Success program in Coatesville.

Organized by the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center (KUSBDC), the CREATE Series is designed to provide valuable skills and tools to help early stage or existing business owners.

The program was first offered in 2016 at the Coatesville Library and had a graduating class of 15 entrepreneurs.  The participants wrote business plans and learned about topics including finance, marketing, local regulations and much more.

This year’s program will run for six weeks from March 15 through April 16 at the Courtyard Marriott Coatesville.  Entrepreneurs who participate will have the opportunity to

  • Develop your business pitch, refine your value proposition and learn about the business canvas
  • Hear from professional presenters in their respective fields
  • Discuss business credit and financing, market research, and legal issues affecting your business
  • Review marketing and promotion strategies including website, social media, and email marketing
  • Tackle operational issues such as record keeping

“On behalf of the Kutztown University SBDC, we are excited to bring back the CREATE Series to the City of Coatesville. This 6-week series is for early stage and existing business owners who want to take their business to the next level,” said Dr. Ernie Post, Director of Kutztown University.

At the end of this series you will have the opportunity to present your business plan pitch to potential investors and for cash awards for the top three pitches,“ he added.
