Portabellos of Kennett Square has become one of the borough’s hotspots since it first opened its doors at its new location in April last year, writes Jen Samuel for the Daily Local News.

The restaurant is run by husband and wife Brett Hulbert, who is the executive chef, and Sandra Morris. Hulbert’s culinary experience is vast and spans venues from all over the country.

The couple first arrived in Kennett Square nine years ago, when they took ownership of Portabellos at its old location on West State Street. Eight years later, they decided to move to expand their business and soon found their dream space on East State Street in the heart of Kennett Square.

The menu at Portabellos boasts artisan, handcrafted American and international cuisine, which is enhanced by a “freestyle” element, courtesy of Hulbert’s vision.

However, the food is not the only thing the pair focuses on. According to Morris, their aim is to offer patrons “true hospitality at its best.” In addition to serving delicious food, this means creating a warm and friendly dining experience in an upscale environment.
