General Clerk – Public Defender

This position performs administrative duties, including word processing and data entry; performs receptionist duties, including answering the telephone and running errands; stamps, sorts, and distributes mail; and performs other special projects as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED and knowledge and skill with modern office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and calculators; strong verbal and written communication skills; and basic computer and software skills.

Van Driver – Library

This position delivers, picks up, and sorts materials for upcoming deliveries; packs items to be delivered each morning and loads the van; delivers items to the courthouse, Government Services Center, West Chester Public Library, and Exton Library; and repairs furniture and broken shelf brackets.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED and up to one year of job-related experience and/or training; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record; and the ability to work independently.

Public Health Nurse – Maternal Child Health Program

This position conducts nursing assessments for clients, including obtaining a thorough health history; performs HIV screening, STD testing, and DNA screening for prisoners; provides health education for prenatal women and young mothers; and assists with the orientation of new staff.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school; Pennsylvania Registered Nurse licensure; one to two years of experience in the community or public health field; and broad knowledge of general medical, adolescent, and pediatric diseases and conditions.
