Three locales in Chester County are among the 100 “cities” across the country where your home is least likely to get burgled, according to a list recently published by Alarm Grid.

“There is nothing worse than being burgled,” said Joshua Unseth, Alarm Grid’s co-founder. “It is a crime that destroys the feeling of safety most of us feel in our own homes.”

According to Unseth, one of the reasons for compiling the list was to “recognize those places where the residents that live there can feel safe in their own homes because they are safe.”

To determine the rankings for The 100 Least Burgled Cities in America, Alarm Grid constructed a list of burglaries per capita using FBI crime data from 2018 and divided the number of burglaries by the city’s population. Only “cities” with a population of 10,000 or more were considered.

The highest-ranked locale in Chester County is Upper Uwchlan Township at No. 18, with 0.869 burglaries per 10,000 residents.

Next is Willistown Township at No. 65 with 2.731 burglaries per 10,000 residents.

Finally, Westtown-East Goshen placed 67th with 2.790 burglaries per 10,000 residents.
