West Grove resident Tim Fitzgerald helped to determine the winners at the 2020 National Western Stock Show’s Super Point Roll of Victory Angus Show held last month in Denver.

During the second-most-visited National Western Stock Show in the history of the event, Fitzgerald and another judge evaluated 190 cows, 49 bulls, and two cow-calf pairs before naming the champions.

Fitzgerald, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University, is the cattle manager at Cherry Knoll Farm in West Grove. There, he has designed the breeding program around the goals of the Angus youth of today. He has already helped junior breeders achieve great success in the show ring and in cultivating their own stock.

His main philosophy is to advance the potential of young breeders.

“When juniors grow in knowledge, skills, and confidence, we win and so does the industry,” he said.

With Fitzgerald at the helm of all operations, Cherry Knoll Farm has taken genetics to the next level. In 2007, the farm has managed to win the Grand Champion Heifer and Grand Champion Bull during the National Western Stock Show, an unheard-of achievement.
