Women’s Boutique Leaving Malvern After 12 Years

By

Gingy’s Boutique is leaving Malvern after 12 years and is relocating to downtown Wayne, with the expectation to be up and running by mid-March, writes Caroline O’Halloran for SAVVY Main Line.

The popular store has spent the last five years at its current location on the corner of King Street and Warren Avenue. However, the building was sold last summer, and the new landlord “significantly” increased the rent.

So, owner Jean Tremblay went on the search for a new location and found the ideal spot in Wayne, at 168 East Lancaster Avenue.

She chose this spot because it reminds her of her current location and also has extra space that can accommodate a design studio for Gingy’s clothing line.

The Malvern store will close on Jan. 25. Until then, there’s a huge moving sale in progress.

“At first, the circumstances that caused me to move devastated me,” said Tremblay. “But I am thinking things happen for a reason, and I’m looking to the future.”

Gingy’s also has another two locations: one Stone Harbor, N.J., and one in Newport, R.I.
