Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen has introduced an immersive tropical experience to Kennett Square with its new tiki-themed Aloha Room that opened last week, writes Isabella Sanchez Castaneda for Main Line Today.

The restaurant is hoping the new addition will help keep the winter blues at bay and inject some much-needed warmth into the borough.

“Our goal is for people to come to Kennett Square and escape to the islands, if only for a few hours,” said co-owner Lee Mikles.

Mikles came up with the idea with fellow co-owner Jim O’Donoghue.

Guests can enjoy a tropical menu, including rum-forward cocktails like the Tropic Thunder, served in a ceramic volcano bowl for two. Other drinks inspired by the islands will be served in tiki glasses topped with tiny umbrellas.

In addition to Grain’s traditional menu, the bar will also feature a Polynesian-inspired food menu. The offerings will include Pipeline Shrimp and a tiki salmon.

The new bar is open for a limited time and will be swapped out with other themed concepts that will rotate throughout the year.
