Peter Urscheler, who grew up in Florida, is Mayor of the Borough of Phoenixville.

Urscheler earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management Information Systems from Stetson University, where he credits the school’s former president, Dr. H. Douglas Lee, as having the biggest impact on his development as a community leader.

“While I was a student, I spent a significant amount of time traveling with him to various events, and in our travels, he would constantly share his experiences and his decision-making process,” said Urscheler, who began working when he was 14 as an assistant to a financial planner. “Dr. Lee helped me to define and verbalize my values set and expand my social consciousness.”

Urscheler’s proudest professional achievement is being the youngest person ever to be elected Mayor of Phoenixville in the borough’s 170-year history.

“While in office, I’ve worked to champion several causes, including affordable housing, increased services for senior citizens, public transportation, reducing the educational attainment gap for economically disadvantaged families, total equality protections, and environmental sustainability,” he said.

Urscheler’s favorite Chester County restaurant is “anywhere in the Borough of Phoenixville!”
