‘Gym Rat’ in West Chester Celebrates 100th Birthday Alongside Friends, Trainers
Throughout the years, Paul Earley had become such a fixture at Anytime Fitness in West Chester that his friends and trainers at the gym wanted to help him celebrate an important milestone, his 100th birthday, according to a report from CBS3.
Some heart trouble in his 50s prompted Earley to start exercising regularly, and he credits his almost-daily work in the gym, as well as surrounding himself with good people, as the solution to staying healthy.
“Here’s the key: exercise and wonderful people,” he said. “That’s the key. Get married to the right person. I was married 68 years. And when you’re talking to them, you look them right at the eye. You don’t come home and open a newspaper. I had to get straightened out on that.”
The folks at the gym gave Early, an avid birdwatcher, a giant birthday card.
