‘The Price Is Right’ for Employee of West Chester’s Quadratec
Robert Jarrell, an employee of Quadratec in West Chester, is one of a growing number of Philadelphia-area contestants who have won big on game shows this year, writes Ryan Cormier for the Wilmington News Journal.
Earlier this year, Jarrell won more than $25,000 on The Price Is Right, the longest-running game on television.
He started his appearance with a winning bid during the show’s four-person Contestants’ Row. Jarrell bid $1,300 and took home two mountain bikes worth $1,398.
He won the Showcase Showdown when he landed an 85 on the Big Wheel. During the Final Showcase at the end of the program, he guessed the cost of three six-night vacations to British Columbia, Nassau in the Bahamas, and Porto, Portugal to be $24,999. The actual price was $25,445.
He was so close to the actual price that he elicited a gasp from the studio audience. As he celebrated on stage, he was swarmed by his co-workers, who gave him high-fives and hugs.
“It was a dream-come-true moment,” said Jarrell.
