The Boston Red Sox have promoted Conestoga High School graduate and former Major League Baseball player Dave Bush, who has been employed with the organization since 2016, to pitching coach.

Bush, 40, served as pitching coordinator for the Red Sox in 2019 after spending the 2016-18 seasons as the club’s pitching development analyst.

The former right-handed pitcher played parts of nine seasons in the majors, going 56-69 with a 4.73 ERA in 211 games (187 starts) for the Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, and Texas Rangers. He also pitched for the SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization in 2012.

Prior to joining the Red Sox, Bush spent two years coaching at Maine’s Bridgton Academy, in addition to coaching overseas through MLB International, serving as the pitching coach for the Chinese and South African national teams.

After graduating from Conestoga High School in 1998, Bush attended Wake Forest University, where he was a standout relief pitcher and registered a program record 38 saves. In 2014, he was inducted into the Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame.
