Joshua Coates of Upper Darby has brought the flavor of Delaware County to the big screen with his new indie thriller, Hollywould, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.
The film was conceived and shot in Delco. Several residents and business owners appear and executive producers Mitchell Bass, Marcia Bass, and Steven Bass are locals.
The movie, which had its Philadelphia premiere recently at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute, stars Eric Roberts, Torrei Hart, Pete Postiglione, and Caitlyn Fletcher.
“It felt really good to shoot a film in Delco,” Postligilone said at the premiere. “If you’re from Delaware County, as I am, you understand that we’re our own unique breed.”
Appearing in the film is Lula’s Deli Corner in Clifton Heights; J.T. Brewski’s Pub in Primos; the Newtown Township Police Department; Cocco’s Pizza and Gelateria in Primos; The Newtown Square Railroad Museum; and SEPTA’s Primos Train Station.
Michael Cocco, owner of Cocco’s Pizza, and Tom Smith, owner of J.T. Brewski’s, have guest parts in the movie.
Hollywould centers on an award-winning writer who returns to his hometown to seek inspiration and is led astray by a woman he encounters.
