After spending the previous season with the New York Giants, Downingtown East High School graduate Kyle Lauletta has joined the Philadelphia Eagles as a member of their practice squad, writes Bob Grotz for the Daily Times.

While he was disappointed to not be a part of the Giants’ long-term plans, the quarterback is happy to be an Eagle.

“It was disappointing, but at the end of the day, if you perform well enough, another team is going to want you because you have value,” Lauletta said. “It wasn’t with the Giants. But I’m very fortunate to be in the situation I’m in now with a coaching staff that’s willing to develop me. I couldn’t be happier with how it ended up.”

After a great high school career, Lauletta excelled on the college level at the University of Richmond. During his time there, he led the Spiders to the 2015 Football Championship Subdivision semifinals.  He also threw for a school-record 10,465 yards and 73 touchdowns.

He played in the 2018 Senior Bowl and was later selected by the Giants as a fourth-round draft pick.
