The Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC) via its Innovative Technology Action Group (ITAG) initiative works with local companies to support their need for technology-related training.  During the organization’s 2019 fiscal year, a total of $174,564 was allocated to support the training needs of 31 different companies.

The funds, which are made available through grants by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, and the Chester County Workforce Development Board, offset the costs of training 277 individuals in the health care, technology, manufacturing, and energy industries.

Sean Ellsworth, Talent Acquisition Leader for the Vanguard Group noted that “our top strategic priority is focused on our client experience which requires increasing our talent and knowledge in job families like data science, user experience, scrum masters, front end development, and project management. Without up skilling our current crew,” he continued, “our business needs will not be achieved and our employees will not have the required skills to meet our talent needs.”

Training funding is still available – if your organization had a need to train new hires or upskill current employees, please contact Marianne Stack, Program Manager at mstack@ccedcpa.com.
