West Chester University third baseman Jared Melone was recently named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division II Baseball Team, and thus became the first player in program history to earn the honor more than once.

Majoring in accounting/finance, Melone, a North Penn High School graduate, and 10 other individuals from across the country garnered first-team honors.

Finishing his senior season ranked fourth in the country with a .438 batting average, Melone helped the Golden Rams to a 31-16 record, which secured them hosting rights for the 2019 NCAA DII Atlantic Region II Championship for the first time since 1985.

One of the greatest to ever don the Purple and Gold, Melone became the first player in program history to earn First-Team All-America status from the three major voting associations in the country.

Pacing the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference with 20 doubles, a .784 slugging percentage, and a .520 on-base percentage, Melone also repeated as PSAC East Athlete of the Year this season.
