Local Man Named CEO of Fast-Growing Company That Provides Physical Therapy in 12 States

Ron Rodgers

Ron Rodgers of West Chester has been named the new CEO of Athletico Physical Therapy – a national provider of physical and occupational therapy and fitness services based in suburban Chicago – writes Stephanie Goldberg for Crain’s Chicago Business.

Rodgers, a former executive with Fresenius Medical Care, will succeed Mark Kaufman, who founded the company 25 years ago.

Athletico has grown rapidly in recent years. It now has more than 5,000 employees at around 475 clinics in 12 states. In fact, just this month, the company opened new locations in Iowa, Michigan, and Texas.

Prior to this appointment, Rodgers was president of Fresenius Medical Care’s North American kidney care division. While there, he was responsible for the dialysis treatment of more than 190,000 patients across 2,400 outpatient centers throughout the country.

Rodgers said he is looking forward to helping the team further grow Athletico’s footprint and range of services.

“He understands how to grow healthcare organizations while maintaining the highest standards of care,” said Kaufman. “I am convinced Ron’s skills, commitment to excellence, and belief in servant culture and leadership will add strength and experience to our leadership team.”
