Unlike some of her Democratic colleagues who are eager to take on President Trump right away, U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan prefers to focus her early work in Congress on the Armed Services and Foreign Affairs committees, writes Paul Kane for The Washington Post.

A freshman congresswoman, Houlahan represents Pennsylvania’s sixth congressional district, which includes all of Chester County. A former Air Force officer, she recently launched a new bipartisan caucus focused on issues for women in the military and veterans.

She also often searches out GOP allies during what she refers to as her “get to know a Republican” practice.

She rarely focuses on the president, and while she wants to see him out of office, she opposes the impeachment some Democrats have been pushing for.

“We’ve got a problem, but the problem needs to be solved in 2020 at the polls,” said Houlahan. “And we need to be practical about how we get there. And so it’s not about how fast can you get this guy out. It’s how can we make sure that we’re addressing the issues that we got elected on.”
