Philadelphia Mayoral Forum to Be Broadcasted from Holy Family University’s Campus

The university will host the event at their Philadelphia campus.

Holy Family University will host a 2023 Philadelphia Mayoral Candidates Forum, sponsored by AARP, the Northeast Times and the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee.

The event airs live on PHL17 on April 18 at 7:30 PM and will be livestreamed on PHLl17. Registration for this event is full.

The following candidates are confirmed for the broadcast debate:

The forum will be moderated by Jennifer Lewis-Hall, WPHL-TV, Tom Waring, Editor of Northeast Times,and Daniel McElhatton, Esq., of the Law Offices of Daniel P. McElhatton, PC and member of the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.

Jennifer Lewis-Hall

Jennifer Lewis-Hall is a veteran news anchor, producer, communications, and multimedia executive. Inducted into the Mid-Atlantic Emmy’s Silver Circle, Jennifer is a two-time Emmy-nominated broadcast journalist and Pennsylvania Broadcasters Award recipient covering complex issues including politics, education, and healthcare.  She is currently an anchor, host, and producer for WPHL-17 in Philadelphia, where she covers stories on business, law, finance, medicine, and current affairs. She is producer and host of Politics In Focus, the station’s longstanding public affairs program focusing on political and community issues as diverse as the opioid epidemic, the gun violence crisis, medical innovation, global geopolitical events, and federal, state, and local-level legislation as well as widely followed elections.

Daniel McElhatton, Esq.

A former Philadelphia assistant district attorney and member of the Philadelphia City Council in the 1990s, Dan helped guide Philadelphia out of financial ruin. He served as outside counsel to SEPTA, board chairman of Philadelphia Community College and the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, and founding member of the Philadelphia Board of Ethics. These are just a few of Dan’s civic commitments to Philadelphia. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Daniel McElhatton, Esq. is a proud graduate of Northeast Catholic High School, Villanova, and Temple University School of Law.

Tom Waring

Tom Waring has worked for the Northeast Times for 27 years, 18 as a reporter and nine as editor. He grew up in Oxford Circle and graduated from St. Martin of Tours, St. Joseph’s Prep, and Penn State. He is on the board of the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Northeast Philadelphia Hall of Fame Committee, is treasurer of the Friends of Holmesburg Library, a member of the Holmesburg Civic Association, and is block captain for the 3400 block of Hartel Ave. He has served on committees at St. Martin’s and formerly served on the St. Hubert advisory board. Other newspapers he worked for include the Bucks County Courier Times and Trentonian.
