Drink Water Essential for a Healthy Lifestyle

Water is essential for our body to function properly.  If I have a headache, I drink water.  If I am hungry, I drink water.  If I am hot, I drink water.  You get my point, right?

Water is one of those things we know we should consume more of yet if I were to ask you to track the amount of water you drink on a daily basis you probably are not drinking enough.

While there is no universally agreed upon amount of water we should drink per day, I heard this fact once and I stick with it to this day.  Drink ½ your body weight in water ounces per day.

For instance, a 200 lb. male should drink 100 ounces of water a day.  Now, before you think that is too much let’s talk about how to break that down throughout the day.

Start off with a large glass of water before your coffee each morning.  Find a reusable water bottle and bring it everywhere with you.  Fill it multiple times a day.  And at the end of the night, take large water and put it on your nightstand.

  • Water hydrates the skin and helps to prevent wrinkles
  • Water regulates body temperature
  • Water helps to flush out the toxins
  • Water assists with weight loss
  • Water boosts immune system
  • Water prevents headaches
