WCU Achieves Enviable Rankings in the 2020 U.S. News Graduate Schools Lists
Among more than 800-plus institutions surveyed by U.S. News & World Report for its 2020 graduate school rankings, West Chester University has some of the top programs.
For the 2020 edition, U.S. News evaluated more than 2,000 graduate programs and just published its latest academic reputation rankings for graduate programs in seven areas, with WCU placing highly in these areas:
- Social Work (No. 96)
- Nursing Schools: Doctor of Nursing Practice (No. 112)
- Public Affairs (No. 165)
- Nursing Schools: Master’s (No. 176)
U.S. News included, without numerical rankings, WCU’s public health and business programs on those respective lists. The university also ranks 199th for Graduate Speech-Language Pathology, a category that was not updated for the 2020 list.
Rankings are based on statistical surveys that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research, and students, as well as expert opinions of peers and recruiters about program excellence. U.S. News requested reputation surveys from more than 22,018 academics and professionals in fall 2018 and early 2019. The methodology for each category’s rankings are unique.
In late 2018, U.S. News ranked WCU’s online MBA at No. 58 among online MBA programs and at No. 33 in Best Online MBA Programs for Veterans.
Another ranking entity, TheBestSchools.org, has listed WCU’s doctor of public administration as its No. 1 Best Online Public Administration Doctorate Program.
