The faculty and administration at Delaware Valley Friends School in Paoli were proactive in their planning to ensure a smooth transition to distance learning and thus set the bar high for other schools in the region, according to a report from Main Line Media News.

School officials proactively developed a plan that would focus on face-to-face direct instruction, give teachers a way to continue to reinforce and build academic skills, and preserve the school’s sense of community.

With the goal of maintaining relationships, DVFS is using technology to provide students an experience similar to what they find in an actual classroom.

A day before the closure, the school had a full day with students to review the process. As a result, the transition was a resounding success.

“DVFS is doing a great job with the transition to Distance Learning,” said lower school parent Pa. “We have been really impressed with the level of communication, the organization of materials, and the professionalism with which DVFS has approached this unexpected turn of events.”
