The West Chester Area School District has been named one of the 2019 Best Communities for Music Education by The NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.

The distinction recognizes school districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. It is a testament to the teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education.

The West Chester Area School District supports numerous performing ensembles in instrumental band, string orchestra, and chorus at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.

Almost 5,000 students are involved in the district’s music program.
