Andiario, West Chester’s newest culinary gem, has missed the cut for the title of America’s Best New Restaurant.

The James Beard Foundation announced the finalists for this year’s prestigious awards, and Andiario, which was a semifinalist, did not move on to the next round in its category.

“It is the simple summation of what the organization stands for, from unique and delicious dining experiences at the James Beard House and around the country to scholarships, mentorships, and a variety of industry programs that educate and empower leaders in the food community,” the foundation said.

Since opening last year, Andiario – which is co-owned by Chef Anthony Andiario and his partner, Maria van Schaijik – has been lauded not just by customers, but also food critics. Located on West Gay Street, the restaurant boasts one of the most sought-after reservations in the Philadelphia suburbs.
