The father of Bianca Roberson, the victim of a road-rage murder in West Goshen nearly two years ago, is looking for the public’s help to fund a mural against gun violence, writes Jenice Armstrong for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Rodney Roberson moved from Philadelphia to West Chester before his daughter was born to escape crime and provide her with better schooling. Bianca, nonetheless, became another victim of gun violence.

“It happened even when we were trying to protect her,” said Rodney.

Now, he is hoping to commission a giant mural in West Philly with help from Mural Arts Philadelphia and the Office of Violence Prevention to memorialize his daughter and remind passersby of the effects of gun violence.

Mural Arts has already donated $6,500, but the project still needs around $25,000 to make it a reality.

So Rodney has started a crowdfunding campaign with the hope of receiving enough donations for the mural.

“We want the mural to be large enough so it’s substantial,” said Jane Golden, founder and executive director of Mural Arts.
