Church Farm School

Jon Knorr, the former Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Relations at Temple University’s College of Engineering, has joined CFS as its Director of Development. Knorr, who succeeds retiring administrator Peter Corrado, brings more than 30 years of fundraising, alumni relations, operations, and program development experience to CFS.

Knorr will focus on raising funds to support the school’s mission, including student financial assistance, capital development, and program initiatives. He will also support the Board of Directors and Head of School in philanthropic and community activities and oversee the marketing and promotion of the school to alumni, donors, and the general public.

“I am honored to have been chosen as the school’s Director of Development, and I am eager to work with the leadership of Church Farm School to promote and advance the great work the organization has been doing for 100 years in Chester County,” Knorr said.

“We are excited to welcome such an accomplished and engaging person as Jon to our community, knowing that we will benefit greatly from his expertise and vast experience as we continue to spread the good word about the transformative power of a Church Farm School education,” said Head of School The Rev. Edmund K. Sherrill II.

“Participation in speech and debate changes lives,” said J. Scott Wunn, Executive Director of the National Speech & Debate Association. “We are extremely proud of our charter schools, coaches, and students for their hard work and dedication to this transformative activity.”

Chester County Orphans’ Court

The court is seeking volunteers to serve county individuals who require guardianship and assisting the court in maintaining contact with any person deemed by the court to be unable to make decisions about their daily lives, where they live, or medical or financial matters.

The amount of volunteer time for visits to individuals who need guardianship is flexible, and training for the guardian program includes topics such as the guardianship process, individual’s rights, Alzheimer’s disease, and information on public agencies that provide the guardianship services.

Anyone interested in becoming part of the Orphans’ Court guardian program is invited to take part in a free training session that will be held on Wednesday, April 10 from 9 AM-1:30 PM at the Chester County Justice Center. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
