Archer & Buchanan Architecture in West Chester has added a new partner for the first time since the firm was founded in 1996, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Michele Thackrah was welcomed into the Peter C. Archer and Richard D. Buchanan leadership team after more than 15 years working there.

Thackrah, who earned her degrees in architecture at Penn State, could not hide her excitement after being made partner.

“I’m terribly excited but at the same time feeling very comfortable with it,” she said.

The firm is opening a new office in the Hale building in Philadelphia later this month.

“I’m hoping to grow our work for fit-out and adaptive reuse in commercial and residential,” said Thackrah.

She also said she plans to work with the staff to determine their needs for further engagement and growth.

“We have a staff of 21 right now,” she said. “We’re a good size.”
