Mid Penn Bank

The bank has created a new mortgage banking division primarily servicing southeastern Pennsylvania. First Priority Mortgage, a Division of Mid Penn Bank will operate throughout the greater Delaware Valley and includes 10 experienced residential mortgage loan originators and a full origination support team.

“Residential mortgage lending is a fundamental aspect of community banking,” said Mid Penn Bank President and CEO Rory Ritrievi. “By committing resources to aid customers in achieving part of the American dream, the bank will have the opportunity to deepen customer relationships and build mutual loyalty.”

First Priority Mortgage will offer a full range of secondary market mortgage products, including conventional, jumbo, FHA, VA, PHFA, and others. Also, in-house product options are available for unique situations where a secondary-market alternative may not best meet a customer’s needs.

Egalet Corp.

The reorganization plan of the Wayne-based specialty pharmaceutical company that develops tamper-resistant pain medicine was recently confirmed, writes John George for The Philadelphia Business Journal.

While filing for bankruptcy in October, Egalet simultaneously entered into an asset purchase agreement to acquire four pain relief products from Iroko Pharmaceuticals in Philadelphia.

Egalet’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, which listed assets of $120 million and debts of $159 million, included a plan to assist the transaction and reorganize the company’s capital structure.

Immaculata University

Conductor Mark Russell Smith and tuba soloist Craig Knox will perform with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra in Alumnae Hall at the university on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 8 PM and also in Verizon Hall at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 3 PM.

“I welcome you to experience the musical excellence defined by the world-renowned symphony orchestra of the Curtis Institute of Music as they present their second performance on the campus of Immaculata University this year,” said William Carr, chair of Immaculata’s Music Department. “We are honored to have this world-class ensemble present its musical tribute to composers Aaron Copland, Charles Ives, Antonin Dvorak, and Curtis composer Jennifer Higdon.”
