VISTA Today Among Five Local Businesses to Be Honored at Annual SCORE Luncheon

Chester and Delaware County SCORE – a nonprofit comprised of volunteers who provide free professional business counseling to entrepreneurs, small businesses, and nonprofits in Chester and Delaware counties – will host its seventh annual Small Business Achievement Awards Luncheon on Thursday at the Concord Country Club.

VISTA Today is one of five winners of SCORE’s Small Business Achievement Award.

Dedicated to promoting the economic, cultural, and social viability of Chester County, the daily online journal aims to capture the excitement of Pennsylvania’s fastest-growing county.

Founder Ken Knickerbocker worked closely with several local leaders – such as Gary Smith and Marybeth DiVincenzo of the Chester County Economic Development Council – to structure the journal and highlight the positive stories that illustrate what it is like to live and work in Chester County.

Another major player in helping to shape the financial and operational plans of VISTA Today has been the mentoring services offered by SCORE. Mentors Steve Crumrine and Steve Werner have provided valuable economic guidance for future growth.

In addition to VISTA Today, the four other winners of SCORE’s Small Business Achievement Award are:

  • Brandywine Consignment Shop – Downingtown
  • The Bacon Jams – West Chester
  • Elite Puréed Meals – Newtown Square
  • SubstiToothFairy – Brookhaven

The award winners have all benefited from SCORE’s counseling and mentoring services and, as a result, have enjoyed substantial growth and continued success.

“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy, and these recipients exemplify the success that can be achieved through creativity, planning, and determination,” said John Lippman, Co-Chairman of Chester and Delaware County SCORE. “On behalf of all of our volunteers, we at SCORE are proud to be a part of their success.”
