Willistown Township resident M. Night Shyamalan was spotted in Center City last week filming scenes for his as-yet-unnamed new series for Apple TV, writes Nick Vadala for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The show will star Rupert Grint, Toby Kebbell, and Lauren Ambrose and will be produced by Shyamalan’s Blinding Edge Pictures. The famous filmmaker is also directing the first episode of the series and serving as an executive producer.

There is little known about the plot so far. According to some reports, it will follow parents Dorothy (played by Ambrose) and Sean Turner (played by Kebbell). They hire a nanny for help with their newborn child. Grint plays Dorothy’s younger brother, Julian.

Most of the filming done in Philadelphia on the first day was at 21st and Spruce streets. There, Shyamalan and the rest of the cast and crew filmed a misty evening scene. The crew then moved to 18th and Walnut streets for a car crash scene.

Shyamalan also filmed his latest movie, Glass, in Philadelphia earlier this year.
