Bob Gable serves up cocktails at Parx Casino by night, but his alter ego, Bucks County Batman, serves up justice by day to prevent criminal mischief, writes Stephanie Farr for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“My slogan is ‘Making Bucks County great again,’” said Gable.

Gable has loved comics since he was a kid and has been collecting costumes for the last decade. His Batman costume at $12,000 is his most expensive one, but it’s not the only impressive piece in his collection. His War Machine costume from Ironman won best overall costume prize at Philadelphia’s Wizard World conference three years ago.

Gable began as Batman, riding around Bensalem in his suit on a motorcycle. Then, he started making videos of Batman doing everyday things like going to Wawa to buy milk, which he posted on a YouTube page created for his son.

He tackled his first crime in June, cleaning up graffiti for a local bait-and-tackle shop. His video went viral, securing him media appearances and invitations to appear at birthday parties and charity events.

For Gable, it’s all in a day’s work.

“It’s just nice to make people happy,” said Gable.
