Home of the Sparrow, an Exton-based nonprofit that helps women and children who are facing homelessness, invites you to give local on Giving Tuesday – to support women and children in our community who are in danger of losing their homes.

Its goal for Giving Tuesday, a global day for giving back, is to raise $6,000 – which could prevent an additional single mother from experiencing homelessness. This amount could help her gain independence, self-sufficiency, and long-term stability, while she receives a modest rental subsidy for 12 months, financial skills training, and educational opportunities.

Making a contribution is incredibly easy and every donation makes a profound impact on a family’s life.

If you are unable to donate financially, please consider contributing these essential household items to the #WinterWhiteOut drive, Home of the Sparrow’s initiative for Giving Tuesday:

  • Paper Towels
  • Toilet Paper
  • Tissues
  • Feminine Hygiene Products
  • Cleaning Products
  • Laundry & Dish Detergent
  • Soap, Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Store Gift Cards

Government assistance does not cover these necessary household items, and for women and mothers who are facing homelessness, their cost can often be insurmountable. Items can be dropped off by Nov. 27 at Home of the Sparrow’s office at 969 East Swedesford Road in Exton.

Home of the Sparrow supported 742 women and children last year. Established in 1994, it partners with women facing homelessness to secure housing, achieve long-term stability, and chart new paths for their futures.
