Saturday’s Hog ’N Lager in Malvern the First of Many Charitable Efforts of Millennial Professional Board

The Millennial Professional Board

Powered by First Resource Bank, the Millennial Professional Board is a group of Chester County millennials trying to make a positive impact in community.

The Board will host its first charitable event, a pig roast/craft-beer festival named Hog ’N Lager, on Saturday from 12-7 PM at the High Point in Malvern.

The fun in the sun will also include games, live music, and food trucks. The best part, however, is that the money raised by ticket sales will help the Millennial Professional Board reach its goal of raising $40,000 for victims of domestic abuse in Chester County and the surrounding areas.

Specifically, the money will fund grants for which local charities can apply via the Chester County Community Foundation. First Resource Bank contributed the first $15,000 toward the Board’s goal.

The Millennial Professional Board was formed through the efforts of First Resource Bank, not only as a way to obtain valuable insight into the banking landscape from a millennial perspective, but also to provide a platform from which to reject negative stereotypes often associated with that age group.

“We’ve got a group of energetic young professionals who want to effect social change and make a difference in our community,” said John Durso, Senior Vice President and Chief Retail Banking Officer at First Resource Bank, “and a bank that believes so much in them that we are going to invest some seed money to get their project off the ground.

“This kind of thing doesn’t happen every day.”
