Golf Genius Software, a tournament management software company based in Wayne, has signed a strategic partnership with NBC Sports Group and its Golf Channel to integrate its technology across multiple brands, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The deal includes four elements, starting with Golf Genius serving as the Golf Channel Am Tour’s exclusive tournament management solution. It will also provide its golf trip management system to the Golf Channel’s Golf Advisor Club, support event operations for the World Long Drive Association starting in 2020, and implement new technology protocols for the Golf Channel’s BRS Golf online tee time booking software.

Founded in 2009, Golf Genius CEO Michael Zisman originally met Golf Channel executive vice president for strategy Will McIntosh six years ago at an annual PGA merchandise trade show. While McIntosh did not feel it was a good fit for the Golf Channel at that time, the two stayed in touch.

When Golf Genius introduced its tournament and league management software, McIntosh was intrigued.

“As his business and technology evolved, it made more sense to partner up,” said McIntosh. “What Golf Genius does now is very complementary to what we do.”
