I love getting outside with my family when the air is crisp. As parents we work so hard to be a good example for our children. One of the most important things we can show them is how to be active in a fun way that is enjoyable. Maybe your kids are little like mine or maybe they are teenagers or maybe they are out of the house, find a way this fall to get out of the house and into nature.
Stroud Preserve is a beautiful way to see nature in its finest form. There are several different walking trails to follow perfect for young and old. I took my niece there a few weeks ago and she loved running free down the path exploring. You might even see a few horses while walking around there as well.
Farm Fun can be a great way to get the kids out exploring, walking around the orchards and picking healthy snacks right from its original source. There are dozens of orchards in Chester County from the MainLine to West Chester to Downingtown.
We go to Highland Orchards and pick a bag of apples and talk about all the fun ways we will eat them! Of course we grab one of their warm apple cider donuts on the way out.
There are so many activities happening in our area, I found these resources to be useful: HulaFrog, Philadelphia Family, Mainline Parenting Community and MacaroniKid.
How will you stay active this Fall?
