The West Chester University alumna has been named Netflix’s Head of Consumer Products. She most recently served as The Walt Disney Co.’s Head of Merchandise for Parks, Experiences, and Consumer Products.

At Netflix, Fleischer will oversee retail and licensee partnerships, publishing, interactive games, merchandising, and experiential events.

“I’m excited to begin this next chapter with Netflix,” said Fleischer, who will be based in Los Angeles. “With the amazing series and films being developed on a global scale, we have the opportunity to truly revolutionize the way people engage with the characters and shows they love. With the creative freedom offered here and the global audience, there’s a huge opportunity to deliver a best-in-class experience for people wherever they are.”

Golden Rams Football

WCU opened the 2018 season with a 44-6 victory over Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.

Quarterback A.J. Long threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another pair. He finished the day 10 of 14 for 184 passing yards, while also running the ball 13 times for 54 yards.

“The defense was stout,” coach Bill Zwaan said. “I kinda thought that would happen. It was a great effort. Physically, we played hard. It was a really good opener for us. We had contributions from everybody tonight. The younger guys really stepped up, and they will now push the older guys.”

New Shuttle Service

The university has launched a shuttle service with stops around the borough.

The service, free to students and employees who show their Ram e-card, will connect main campus to Chester County Hospital, major apartment complexes, the Bradford Plaza Shopping Center, and a number of other destinations.

The shuttle will run Mondays through Fridays this fall from 6:45 AM-10:15 PM. Click here for a detailed route and schedule.
