Military Veteran Partners will make a sizable investment of $20 million in seven franchisees of Berwyn-based JDog Junk Removal & Hauling, a company started by and for veterans, writes Erin Arvedlund for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

MVP is a venture capital and investment management firm based in Malvern and founded in January by Steve Cloetingh and Kevin Traynor. The two view the firm as a way to invest in businesses that employ veterans.

Now, they will invest $20 million into seven JDog franchises, providing them with both capital and services. The funds will help support the hiring of 250 veterans, their military spouses, and family members by the end of this year.

“By 2020, this number will grow to 5,000 veterans, military spouses, and military family members hired,” said Cloetingh.

“JDog represents the perfect case study in how MVP plans to accelerate the growth of veteran-owned businesses, along with the entrepreneurial development of their owners,” said Traynor.
