The Art Trust Gallery at Meridian Bank is hosting “Mixed,” an exhibit featuring three mixed-media artists: Reading native Sharon Bartmann, West Chester University graduate Jennifer Hartz, and Maryland resident Jim Roberts.

The exhibit is currently open at 16 West Market Street in West Chester. An artists’ reception will be held Sept. 7 from 5-8:30 PM, and an artists’ talk will be held Thursday, Sept. 27 from 7-8 PM.

The Art Trust is a volunteer-based nonprofit in Chester County with a mission to support and cultivate a contemporary aesthetic for the benefit of artists and the community. One hundred percent of its operating budget is funded by Meridian Bank.

Net proceeds from sales are donated. In 2018, The Art Trust awarded six scholarships to graduating seniors in the West Chester Area School District who are continuing their education in the arts..

“The Art Trust board is always on the lookout for new and exciting work to share with our patrons,” said curator Andrea DellaVecchia. “One of the most exciting aspects of exhibit curation is the opportunity to show a favorite artist with others that are new to me.

“I have been a big fan of Sharon Bartmann’s work for years and own several of her pieces. I discovered Jennifer Hartz last spring on Instagram and was introduced to Jim Roberts’s work through this year’s Chester County Studio Tour. While the three artists share common elements, their individual approach yields dramatically unique work.

“I felt they would exhibit well together – with their common use of mixed media and found objects, united by a similar color palette incorporating gray, white, and blues.”
