There are few things as noble as the mission of Church Farm School.

The boarding and day school in Exton was founded in 1918 by an Episcopal priest as a school for fatherless boys. It now serves young men in grades 9-12 from a variety of family situations.

Fundraisers, like the CFS Golf Classic, enable the school to provide significant financial aid to students of ability and promise from a wide range of economic circumstances.

That fact gives the melting pot of a school its identity as one that embraces its diversity, as its molds teenagers into young men of good character and academic excellence and ships them off to some of the very best colleges in the country, ready to make the world a better place.

The 17th edition of the CFS Golf Classic will be held on Friday, Sept. 28 at the Coatesville Country Club. Proceeds from the event will once again help to underwrite the cost of an elite education for a number of boys who otherwise would not have access to it.

“The Golf Classic was created in 2002 as an effort to build on a need for greater community awareness of and support for Church Farm School, and to publicly recognize the many corporate friends supporting our mission,” said The Reverend Edmund K. Sherrill II, CFS’s Head of School.

The CFS Golf Classic will feature:

  • greeting by members of the Class of 2019
  • great giveaways and contests
  • breakfast in the clubhouse
  • the National Anthem performed by the CFS Choir
  • a putting contest with $10,000 up for grabs
  • a fun day golfing on a gorgeous golf course in Chester County
  • on-course lunch plus Rita’s Water Ice
  • a cocktail and seafood reception featuring networking with area business leaders and CFS faculty and staff; raffles; and an awards presentation

DNB First is the presenting partner of the event.

“As a supporter of education in our community, DNB First believes in the critical mission of the Church Farm School,” said Richard C. Weber, the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of DNB First Wealth Management. “We’re thrilled to be a part of a great day of golf for a tremendous cause.”
