Median Two-Bedroom Rent in West Chester May Be High, but Apartments Are Worth It

While the median rent for a two-bedroom apartment in West Chester is the highest in the region, it’s well worth it, according to Apartment List, writes Sandy Smith for Philadelphia magazine.

One of the reasons the rent is so high is that the borough is home to West Chester University. However, students are not always the renters whom owners are looking for.

For example, a nicely maintained apartment on the two top floors of 226 Price Street rents for $1,700 per month, but it does not accept students.

Students will have more luck at 124 Marketplace, located at 124 East Market Street, where a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment rents for between $1,695 and $1,895 a month. The buildings are in the heart of town, surrounded by eateries, shops, and other entertainment options.

At The Point at Windermere, a two-bedroom apartment near Newtown Square and Ridley Creek State Park rents for $1,640 to $1,939 per month. This includes access to the community pool, grills, and a perks program.
