Winners of Sixth Annual WCU Business Idea Pitch Announced

The Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center at West Chester University has announced the winners of the Sixth Annual WCU Business Idea Pitch.

First and second place in each division are as follows:

WCU Undergraduate Students:

  1. Salih Salaam – TUS: Tutors for University
  2. Zohndra Vogdes, Elizabeth McBrien, and Anthony Rotonda – U Park: WCU Parking App

WCU Graduate Students, Alumni, Faculty, and Staff:

  1. Matthew Heilman and Tina Heilman – Wish Respect
  2. Ben Wann – Innovative Solutions

Chester County Startups:

  1. Mark Stevens – Ram Ride Smart Shuttle
  2. Rachel Frazao – Sir Dangerhorse Skin Solutions

Chester County High Schools:

  1. Anna Miller and Bradford Allan, Great Valley High School – Speak Easy
  2. Sravya Basvapatri, West Chester East High School – SteerSecure

Members of the Keiretsu Forum and other distinguished judges selected Speak Easy as the overall winner of the Idea Pitch. In addition to winning $3,500, the Speak Easy team will have the opportunity to present at the Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic’s Angel Capital Expo on Oct. 17 in Philadelphia.

The Cottrell Center’s Annual WCU Business Idea Pitch is co-hosted by the Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic. The Keiretsu Forum is the world’s largest angel network.

The 2018 Business Idea Pitch was sponsored by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, and the dinner sponsor was First Priority Bank.

The Pitch is the culminating event of the Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center’s 2017-2018 programs and activities.
