The inaugural Blues ’N Brews at Uptown! – a festival-style event that will highlight several of Pennsylvania’s favorite blues-style musicians and showcase two local breweries – is set for Friday, May 25 from 6:30-10 PM in West Chester.

Presented by Windish Music and Productions, the occasion is all about having fun, seeing and listening to great entertainment, and trying new craft beer from Locust Lane Craft Brewery and Yards Brewing Company in Philadelphia.

Each ticketholder will receive a wristband and one souvenir cup at the door, good for unlimited refills and entry to see all of the musical acts. Rinsing stations will be available to make it easy to try multiple beers from the breweries.

Each ticket will also be entered in a raffle for giveaways that include a pair of Louis Prima Jr. tickets and four Mykal Kilgore tickets. Winners will be announced during a break midway through the evening. The evening will be action-packed, with beers available on all three floors and bands performing on all three Uptown! stages. People will be free to move around the building throughout the evening as they discover their favorite sips and sounds.

The two breweries on tap were selected for their common passion for producing high-quality beers and their community spirit. Each will bring a selection of signature and seasonal beers.

Locust Lane was founded on the principle of providing fresh, simple, and classic beer options to the craft brew community. Meanwhile, Yards’ motto – “Brew Unto Others” – reflects its commitment to quality, community, and sustainability.

“We try to do two things well,” said Yards founder Tom Kehoe. “One is great beer. The other is supporting people and organizations who are working hard to make a difference.”

Blues is the theme for the evening, performed by the Rolling Thunder Blues Revue, Bickel Brothers Band, and The John Grecia/Drew Nielands Duo. The versatile styles of these three bands range from traditional Mississippi Blues to sultry Chicago sounds, as well as more contemporary rock/blues. Each band is familiar to the community and plays regularly at large and small venues and festivals throughout the area.

Nick’s Roast Beef Food Truck will also be on hand. Roast beef, pork sandwiches, hot dogs, cheesesteak eggrolls, and fries will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
